Information and Registration

You Need an Anchor.

The past few years have been crazy for you with everything related to COVID, and as a Youth group, we haven’t done any large events where we can take some time and anchor ourselves to God in awhile.

The Bible says in Hebrews 6:19 that “This hope (God) is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.” We’re going to be spending some time away on the beautiful island of Grand Manan to recharge our relationships with God and each other!

Basic Information

In order to catch the ferry, we will be picking students up at early from school (time will be announced once we have exact details from bus company. We will arrive back to Woodstock Wesleyan Saturday evening around 11pm. If attending from The Ridge, Drop off will be at Robins in Nackawic.

Deadline to register and pay deposit ($10) is Wednesday, October 5 because we have to register for the ferry and need numbers for food/accomodations.

Cost

The cost of the event is 65$ which covers transportation to and from the event and meals on Saturday.

Additional money will be needed for supper on Friday night when we eat on the Ferry.  Additional spending money for souveniers or treats they’d like (Grand Manan is a tourist destination after all!) but this is not required.

Registration payment can be done by cash, or e-transfer.

If using e-transfer, in the memo put “Youth – Anchor Weekend – Student name” and send to giving@woodstockwesleyan.org.

If money is an issue, please speak to Ryan or your Youth Pastor and we will figure something out.

  • Physical Paper Bible
  • Pen
  • Notebook
  • Toiletries (Toothpaste/Toothbrush/deoderant)
  • Sleeping Bag & Pillow (Sleeping at the church, likely on the floor)
  • Clothing
  • Good shoes (for hiking/trails)
  • Water Bottle
  • A good attiude
  • If you get sea sick, some anti-nausea medication

2:00pm – Pick-up Nackawic Middle

4:45pm – Arrive at Black’s Harbour Ferry Terminal

5:30pm – Supper on the Ferry (Bring Money)

7:00pm – Arrive on Grand Manan

7:15pm – Beach Walking/Sunset Watching

8:00pm – Bonfire & Session 1

10:00pm – Arrive to Lighthouse Church to Sleep (1038 Route 776 Grand Manan, NB)

11:00pm – Lights Out
