Trending: Suicide Parent’s Resources

Talking about suicide is difficult at any age, and middle and high school is no exception. If you’ve never had an actual conversation about suicide with your kid, it may be that much more difficult to bring up the first time. While it may seem that your kid doesn’t want to talk about it, it’s more likely that they don’t know how or when to bring it up. Not only is it a difficult topic to talk about, but the emotions that come along with it can be incredibly overwhelming as well. Remember that even if they aren’t talking to you, your student has Small Group Leaders, teachers, coaches, and friends who are investing in and caring about the feelings and future of your kid, too!

We know there is so much to cover here, and we want to do our best to be thorough. That’s why we’ve listed some great resources below that will help you navigate this topic that so many of our students are dealing with.
